Report By Howard Myers
Ward Connerly was speaking to us as a private citizen, not as the CEO of American Civil Rights Institute.
Ward Connerly expressed a grave concern about where the United States is going. The downgrading of our credit rating is but an in indicator of how far we have fallen. If we stop spending tomorrow and balance the budget we would still be in decline. The government has no respect for private enterprise; being able to open a business and build a better life for yourself. Obama has utter contempt for private enterprise and sees this as the enemy.
As a community organizer it was his job to side with the ‘disenfranchised’ and attack private enterprise to bring it down. Obama is so dimwitted he does not recognize the importance of private enterprise. As a Republican or Libertarian we recognize the importance of private enterprise.
In regards to equality, the concept that two black people could be competing for the highest office in the land speaks volumes about our greatness as a nation.
In California we have voted to outlaw preferences but they still exist. Equal treatment implies we are equal and individuals, without regard to race, not because of race.
The Dodd Frank Act has preferences built in. This is not a ‘post racial’ administration; it is a ‘most racial’ administration. Section 342 of the bill creates an Office of Minority and Women Inclusion in every one of the 55 financial regulatory agencies. Ward described this as the ‘White Male Exclusion Act’. Each agency is required to have the required diversity.
There are several things we can do but the most important is to serve an eviction notice on the occupants of the white house. Obama issuing executive orders claiming he is taking action because Congress won’t, is creating a constitutional crisis. It is time to grab the pitchforks and charge the hill.
Recently the Berkeley College Republicans had a diversity bake sale, with different prices for different ethnic groups to demonstrate how ludicrous affirmative action is. Ward was invited to go but after his experience with that campus he was hesitant. He was encouraged by his staff to go and he realized, ‘hey these kids have to live here and all I have to do is sell a few cupcakes and go home’. He is very glad he went to support this excellent effort. There were counter protests by a group called “Coalition to defend Affirmative Action, Integration, & Immigrant Rights And Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary”. Aka By Any Means Necessary.
Ward said that although Jerry Brown vetoed SB 185(Hernandez) that would have allowed race preferences for admissions, he felt this was a trade off for signing the Dream Act. In California
The Latino Caucus has approximately 34 members and they vote in a bloc, which makes them very influential. Their agenda for illegals includes driver licenses, in-state tuition, and educational benefits.
Ward believes that the treatment of children that were brought here by their parents when they were 2 or 3 and have lived here for the next 14 years is a nuanced issue with many sides to consider. Certainly, he said, a person here illegally does not deserve any special benefits.
Illegal immigration is draining California culturally, physically, and financially. This is a hard issue to tackle and Jerry Brown is not likely to tackle it. If you wonder if America is in decline, just look at California.
Right now we don’t have much to be hopeful about, but maybe in 12 – 13 months we will be singing ‘Happy Days are Here Again”.
We all want a conservative candidate that is perfect and that we agree with on all things. Ward warns that all candidates will some day break our hearts but we need someone that can beat Obama. If we give Obama four more years he will destroy this country. So think very carefully about who you support.
