Larry Greenfield, California Director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, may very well have been the most dynamic speaker in our four-year history.
He began with a tribute to William F. Buckley, Jr., the father of the modern conservative movement in the United States. He then described the "American Way" as one of limited government, self-government, a moral people, private property and checks and balances. He credited John Locke's Social Contract as instrumental in the development of the "American Way."
As conservatives, our purpose is to conserve liberty. He contrasted it with the advent of Progressivism in the late 19th Century, which was inspired by Darwin, Marx and Nietzsche. The Progressive Democrat candidates for president in 2008 have already proposed tax increases of One Trillion dollars. Progressives want to "tax and spend" until the government controls every facet of our lives.
Larry indicated that our domestic problems can be solved by technology and industry, and not by increased taxes and greater government spending. On the foreign front, he discussed the four parts of Jihad: Military Jihad, Demographic Jihad, Infiltration Jihad, and Sharia Compliant Finance. The enthusiastic crowd of approximately 100 gave Larry two standing ovations.
