“Eco-Tyranny: How the Left’s Green Agenda Will Dismantle America”.
Brian described his start as a TV News Director at age 21 when he really wanted to be a TV weatherman. After a year and a half he got what he wanted.
Brian used to come home and tell his wife all the things that the president did she would say ‘no way’ and what the UN did she would say ‘no way’ and things he saw and heard she would say ‘no way’. After a few years of this his wife said he should write a book of all these things he experienced and call it No Way. So Brian did and brought to a publisher, and the publisher said ‘no way’. So he changed the emphasis a little and wanted to call it ‘Global Whining’. This eventually turned into ‘Climategate’.
The first person to write about manmade pollution causing climate change was Friedrich Engels. He wrote that mankind’s pollution would cause global cooling to the extent that the world would die. Mr. Engels also coauthored the Communist Manifesto with Karl Marx.
Along the same line of man’s effect on the environment Brian described a “Guano Train” that moved enough fertilizer that the standard of living improved to the extent that new houses were being built. This resulted in more trees being cut and this was criticized as being harmful to the environment. Karl Marx loved the idea of using the environment to limit the success of capitalism.
Lenin was one of the original environmentalists, he made the forest off limits and did not want to exploit the oil or coal and invented the ‘nature preserve’. People were in desperate straits and were in need of these resources but these were off limits.
And speaking of Al Gore, MSNBC is still so hung up on the Supreme Court ruling in the Florida election in 2000 they can’t go 24 hours without mentioning it. Al was very much invested in Cap and Trade, and when it didn’t pass he lost the chance to make hundreds of millions of dollars. In fact there has been no global warming since 1994 and in the last few years it has actually cooled.
Brian described a humorous series of tweets between him and Alec Baldwin. It started when Alec referred to Jim Inhofe as an ‘oil whore’ for his opposition to global warming legislation. Brian jumps in with comments like ‘If Jim Inhofe is an oil whore Alec Baldwin is an enviro-slut’, followed by things like a green strumpet, an enviro hooker, and calling Alec a hypocrite for the size of his carbon foot print, etc. Alec responds that Robert Kennedy (an eco-lawyer) would tie you up in a ball, dribble you on the ground and shoot you into an oil well. After an extended back and forth Alec ends up blocking Brian and Brian contends the left really has no facts to argue with regarding global warming.
In Brian’s chapter on “Dam it” he talks about environmentalists that want to remove all the dams, period. They want to remove the water that is available for people and the hydroelectric plants that provide electricity to make it possible for people to live. He describes a press conference at a dam with the politician holding a sledge hammer wanting to tear down the dam. The four dams in the Klamath River Basin provide electricity for 600,000 people, but the dams have to go and are only waiting congressional approval for it to go ahead. The excuse is usually one fish or another but the reason is to reduce the number of people that the land can support.
Obama tried to stop the two nuclear plants that were approved but we need 100 more nuclear plants in the next 40 years, and unless things change this won’t happen. Obama is also cutting off drilling rights to reduce the amount of oil available domestically forcing our continuing reliance on imported oil.
Brian’s presentation was very well received as was his book. There was a long line of people buying autographed books before and after his speech.
