Summary of Friday, April 25, 2008 meeting with Ed Feulner

On Friday, April 25th, over 35 people attended a special luncheon in honor of Ed Feulner, president of the Heritage Foundation for the past 31 years. The Heritage Foundation is building an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity and civil society flourish.

A Who's Who of conservative leaders attended the luncheon as Mr. Feulner explained that the Heritage Foundation provides the people in the government their ideas. With their $10 million budget and a staff of 240 people, they are using their energy towards the accomplishment of 10 initiatives as follows:

  1. Revive a broad understanding of the Constitution.

  2. Restore American leadership around the world.

  3. Provide future generations with the finest education possible.

  4. Communicate the truth about energy and the environment.

  5. Replace the mentality of entitlement.

  6. Support unshakable American entrepreneurship.

  7. Strengthen the family and religion.

  8. Provide free market solutions to health care.

  9. Protect America from freedom's enemies.

10. Restore the rule of law.

Prior to the luncheon, the leaders of The Conservative Forum had the opportunity to discuss the history of the Heritage Foundation, the history of The Conservative Forum of Silicon Valley, and items such as speakers, fundraising and organizational collaboration.
