SPEAKER SERIES

June 2006

Barry Minkin

Guest speaker Barry Minkin (r) receives recognition from Conservative Forum President Richard Geno

Our speaker in June was Barry Minkin, a futurist and global thinker. He is in the process of getting a book published entitled, "Ten Great Lies That Threaten Western Civilization."

He indicated that in the 1960s we went from equal opportunity as a goal to radical separation espoused by the likes of Stokely Carmichael, Malcolm X, and the Black Panthers.

This led to a subtle change to the hyphenated American. Instead of a melting pot, we became a tattered quilt. We had African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Arab-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Mexican-Americans and European-Americans.

He concluded that our moral compass has changed. What is right and what is wrong can now come into play. There has been a reverse in values, beliefs and trends. We have become the exact opposite of the Martin Luther King dream by establishing an entire diversity industry.

The United States is at war with itself. Logic has been replaced by power groups.

The second great shift that has occurred has been that the college campuses have been completely taken over by leftists. A broad amalgamation of people who blame America first, anarchists, liberals, socialists, communists, beatniks, appeasers, and anti-war activists have developed a sanctuary based on groupthink and fascist tactics.

It is no wonder that the Economic Forum referred to Barry Minkin as the "Guru of the 90s."
