2007 Speakers
January 2007 - Dr. Dennis Hollars
Dennis Hollars was our January speaker, and he discussed Global Warming. Approximately 100 conservatives packed the American Legion Hall to witness the doctor of astrophysics discuss the hoax that has been foisted upon the citizens of the United States for purely political and financial reasons.
Our second Special Event was a huge success. Aryeh Green, our guest speaker from Israel was brilliant. Green talked about the basic humanity of the democratic republic of Israel that often works against its own best interests in defense policy. Given a chance to wipe out an area where 75% of the terrorists were operating, the Israeli government rejected doing it because of the potential killing of innocent people.
March 2007 - Rabbi Nachum Shiren
Rabbi Nachum Shifren shared with the group that "Multi-culturalism will be the nail in the coffin for our country. It has ruined our schools, giving license to and legitimacy for groups like Mecha, Lulac, GLADD, and other seditious malcontents bent on destroying our nation. There are a substantial number of Black and Latino educators and administrators who will stop at nothing until they have seen "the last gasp of White America."
Sally Pipes, the president and CEO of Pacific Research Institute, shared with us information about Universal Health Care that first of all made the distinction between "health insurance" and "health care." While there may indeed be 40 million Americans without health insurance, no one goes without health care, not even illegal immigrants. Sally pointed out that the government controls 45% of health care right now through programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Medi-Cal.
Our May Special Event speaker was Ward Connerly, an advocate and warrior for civil rights in America. He was so respected by our audience of over 120 people that he received a standing ovation when he was introduced. He has a background with tremendous credibility; and he is wonderfully articulate. His discussion revolved around the topic of "Race."
Our speaker for June was Alex Mack from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security. He was very engaging with many excellent true-life in-the-field stories. He indicated that he wanted to give our 100-person audience insights into the job of an ICE agent. He immediately dismissed the rumor that they use the line, "Freeze; I'm with ICE." Alex discussed the broad array of types of illegal immigrants that his department must pursue.
July 2007 - No Event
On loan from the United States Navy, Caleb Duke provided a very stimulating and inspirational two-standing-ovation presentation. He is presently assigned to the Pentagon and resides with his Nuclear Submarine group in Connecticut. The theme of his talk was "Why we Fight."
September 2007 - David Horowitz
Over 200 people jammed into the American Legion Hall on Tuesday night to see David Horowitz discuss terrorism and its link with the left in America. He proclaimed that "the 'anti-war' movement is not against war; they are against American wars."
Our October speaker was Tim Morgan, national Treasurer of the Republican Party. Tim told the audience that he was a volunteer and did his work for love of country. He pointed out that the Democrats and the leftist groups like MoveOn.org would spend $2 Billion during the 2008 election cycle while the Republicans and conservative groups would spent approximately $500 Million - one-fourth the amount of the opposition.
Our guest speaker in November, Michael Zak, has thoroughly researched the history of the Republican Party. He shared with us the strength and heritage of the Grand Old Party. He told us that too often Republicans are on the defensive about their party because they do not know its historical background. If Republicans did know the rich history of its beginnings and its past, they would be taking the moral high ground instead of being somewhat apologetic.
December 2007 - General Meeting
The Conservative Forum had a wonderful Annual Meeting/Christmas Party on December 4th. Excellent refreshments were served throughout the evening. President Richard Geno gave a 10-minute "State of the Forum" message, highlighting all of the accomplishments for the year. Bill May, our Treasurer, gave a report on the finances of the organization, indicating that we are financially stable, but not ready for some of the ambitious plans that the Board of Directors has outlined in its 3-year plans.
